Tishala Communications, one of Africa's top boutique PR Agencies, has emerged as a new force in the PR industry after being honoured with two prestigious PRISM Awards at the recent PRISA Gala Event.
Tishala was recognised for its outstanding achievements in the PR and Communications sector for two ground-breaking campaigns relying purely on unpaid earned-media coverage in the Technology Category for its Sumsub AI Deepfake Campaign, and in the Launch of a New Product or Service Category for Shesha eHailing: Mzansi's Ride, Our Nation's Pride.
"We're particularly proud of our achievements at the PRISM Awards, said award-winning broadcaster Nomsa Mdhluli, Founder and MD of Tishala Communications, "especially given the fact that we're a very small agency, that this was our first year entering campaigns for these prestigious awards, and most importantly, that we were recognised alongside our industry peers who are largely established and large veteran industry agencies."
Roy Bannister, Business Development Director for Tishala Communications was equally elated: "The competition was fierce from established players in the PR industry, so we are particularly proud of the fact that our campaigns in the Technology Category, which are often complex and of niche-sector interest, allowed us to exponentially amplify our client's offerings across multiple sectors by creating newsworthy narratives around Sumsub's ability to detect Artificial Intelligence deep-fakes - of particular interest around elections and the hot-buttom topic of South African celebrities' identities being used to defraud the public. This created massive coverage for our client, brand awareness and allowed us to segue into their other more fintech-specific and gaming industry offerings."
